History and Detail
The tradition of carving the ends of ale barrels started in France in the 15th Century, the oldest dates from 1421. Several fine old examples exist in Britain.The practice spread throughout Europe. A carved barrel or wine vat ends create considerable interest and add to the decor of any area.

As the barrel & vat ends are made to order, any of the dimensions can be changed to your own specifications.
