History and Detail

The Guild is the only organisation in the world in the 250 years since this design was produced by Thomas Chippendale to complete a carved bed to this design. The Guild was commisioned by the owners of britains finest great mansions and the bed was completed by a team of 16 of the guilds finest carvers.

Standard Dimensions

Total Height - 7'10 or (2m38cm)
To fit a mattress - 4'6" wide x 6'6" long (Standard English double) or (1m36cm wide x 1m97.5cm long)

As the bed is made to order, any of the dimension can be
changed to your own specifications. We also make this bed to fit a standard 5' (king size), 6' (superking size) mattress and other special mattress size including American and European sizes.

Height of Bed

You have three options when it comes to the height of the matress.

You can place a Divan base and matress straight inside the frame so that it sits on the floor.
We can provide you with slats (as an extra cost option of £50), which lay across the two bottom rails. You can then put a matress straight on top of these.
You can have the slats as in option 2, but can put a Divan base and matress on top of these to give a traditional height.
