A magnificent design of English Chinoiserie furniture, this splendid carved wooden bed has jappanned red, blue and gold decoration. The original can now be seen at the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England. The fourth Duke of Beaufort commisioned the original design of this bed for a bedroom at his home, Badminton House, from the Cabinet maker John Linnell (1729 - 96)

Height of Bed
You have three options when it comes to the height of the matress.
You can place a Divan base and matress straight inside the frame so that it sits on the floor.
We can provide you with slats (as an extra cost option of £50), which lay across the two bottom rails. You can then put a matress straight on top of these.
You can have the slats as in option 2, but can put a Divan base and matress on top of these to give a traditional height.
